Past Continuous

Hi guys for this week, we are going to work on Past Continuous! 

The "past continuous" describes actions or events located in a time before the present , which begins in the past and has not yet concluded at the time of speaking. In other words, it expresses an incomplete or unfinished action of the past.

Some examples:

• They were waiting for the bus when the accident happened.
• Caroline was skiing when she broke her leg.
• When we arrived, I was having a bath.
• When the fire started I was watching television

Now in this picture we can see the differences between simple past and past Continuous. 

And the grammar structure:

After reading all these information, now you are going to watch the following video, probably you have seen this before or not.

Homework:

1. Watch the video.

2. Write the routine of Mr. Bean in past simple.  right here there are some actions but you can write more, the idea is to write his routine using the full structure of past simple like the ones you wrote on the quiz.

•  got up
• walked into the wall
• shaved
• did some exercise
• opened the wardrobe and took out his clothes
• made his bed
• woke up and opened the curtains
• saw a sign with a picture of some teeth and the time.

3. Write 5 sentences about the video of Mr. Bean using the past continous form.

Example:

•  She was reading a book when her friend came to her house.
• I was trying to wake up when you sent a whatsapp message.
